I am wondering if the Kilim Beige might work, or maybe something lighter. In nicer weather, it is jarring to transition from the bright outdoors into the darker kitchen. Accessible beige (neutral beige with a gray undertone) paired with dark brown delivers a cozy and relaxing effect, especially when used in a living room, dining. Our backdoor is in this room (sort of to the far left of table on the same wall as the window, and there’s another longer window between them) this is where we mainly come and go to the garage and backyard. The paint is more dull and a bit darker than the photo portrays.
The pictures of the room always make it look a bit more glowing and lighter than it actually is. My photo was taken after I washed and waxed the floor, all clean and shiny, before the chairs were put back at the table and benches at the island. I’d like to improve upon it and go a shade or two lighter. We painted the walls with a generic beige color I had in other rooms of the house that's darkened over time. If you stare at that color sidebar for long enough, you might be able to see it. It’s a little hard to tell because it’s subtle, but Agreeable Gray is just a touch more yellow than Accessible Beige. So, Accessible Beige isn’t necessarily going to lighten a dark room. Accessible Beige and Agreeable Gray are pretty similar colors in the orange family. I’ve noticed in online forums that people say it lends more to the ‘grey’ side of the greige scale, but it doesn’t present that way in my home (that has tons of natural light).
